All of us face the same inevitable truth, that is with age comes saggy cheeks. HIFU Ultraformer is the latest highly popular non-surgical face lifting treatment, but how does this really compare with Ulthera which was the last big thing? Let’s take a closer look at understanding the similarities and differences so that you can make a good decision!
HIFU Ultraformer vs Ultherapy
HIFU Ultraformer and Ultherapy use the same technology, also known as High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound or HIFU for short. It serves to achieve a non-surgical facelift for anti-ageing purposes. Both treatments reduce the signs of ageing, such as wrinkles, laugh lines and sagging skin. There are however some differences between the 2 treatments if you are considering which is best for you.
They Target Different layers of your Skin
For example, HIFU Ultraformer targets the skin’s dermis and connective tissue to stimulate collagen. Ultherapy, on the other hand, goes much deeper into the skin’s nerves and muscles to stimulate collagen production.
Is deeper better?
In a nutshell, no deeper does not mean better. In fact, although they target different levels of the skin layer, both treatments result in the same skin tightening and face lifting effect.
The Pain Level is Different
HIFU Ultraformer is essentially painless because it uses fractionated HIFU, which means that the HIFU beams are broken into fractions before it penetrates into the skin. This makes it less painful and much safer, as it causes less tissue damage.
Ultherapy, however, uses the traditional HIFU technology with large and focused beams. This causes pretty extreme pain when it starts penetrating the skin. In fact, all patients doing Ultherapy will require some form of anaesthetic.
Patients doing Ultherapy typically complain that the pain is unbearable and some may ask to be sedated during treatment.
The Treatment Interval is different
HIFU Ultraformer shows progressive results within 40 days. It is recommended to come once per week for a treatment for a span of 3-6 weeks. Effects can last up to 12 months. Each session takes approximately 15 min to 1 hour depending on treatment areas. It is painless and comfortable for patients even for those with low pain tolerance.
Ultherapy takes up to 3 months to show its final results. Only 1 session is needed every 12 months. Due to the high focused energy levels, ulthera is suitable only for patients with a very high pain tolerance.
HIFU Ultraformer uses Newer Technology
Basically, HIFU Ultraformer is a newer and safer generation of HIFU that has improved its technology. While being just as effective, it has stripped away the awful pain that came with older HIFU treatments.
What’s more Ultraformer comes with what they call triple focal ultrasound which makes it able to target 3 depths of the skin at the same time. This means the benefits of collagen synthesis and tissue repair are increased.
If you are considering between HIFU or Ultherapy treatments for saggy, loose skin concerns, it is best to first have a consultation with certified aesthetic doctors from well-known aesthetic clinics to get a personalised recommendation.
